The North Face NSE Lhotse Expedition Jacket Flare
In 1987, Sally McCoy, Director of Equipment at The North Face, attempted to become the first American woman to climb the peak of Everest. Efforts were halted due to poor weather conditions, but lessons learned lead to the development of some of TNF's most iconic silhouettes. The AW20 'Expedition Pack' celebrates the attempt, whilst looking to preserve the mountain range for future generations by using recycled materials created from plastic bottles pulled from the Himalayan foothills.
The NSE Lhotse Expedition Jacket is a boxy silhouette that combines mountain-quality insulation with modern urban style. Its recycled ripstop shell is padded with a 700-fill-power down fill for quilt-like comfort and warmth. Two angled zip pockets feature each side of its central zip closure and an interior zip pocket is fitted to the lining. Adjusters at the hem and cuffs lock-in heat and a lightweight packable hood hides in the collar. The chest and back yoke are detailed with custom Expedition System logo embroidery and a Lhotse mountain range patch finishes the left sleeve.
