This Cienfuego Elefantes 1960 6 Panel Cap in Navy is a true piece of baseball history, recreated by Ebbets Field Flannels to the same specifications as its original incarnation. "The pace of the elephant is slow but crushing", exclaimed the slogan of the Cienfuegos franchise, continuing until the 1960-61 season. Following the Cuban Revolution in 1959, political tensions rose within Castro's government, and in March 1961, one month after the regular season ended, the new Cuban regime decreed the abolition of professional baseball in Cuba. This vintage ballcap is constructed from a wool-blended twill and features the original Elefantes logo to the front, applied as a felt appliqué, and a flat peak with a satin under-visor. Tonal stitching and ventilation eyelets throughout provide breathability, whilst the reverse hosts an adjustable leather strap fastening with a metal clasp. The brim is internally taped with a cotton headband for comfort and sweat-wicking functionality.
