This week’s Wellgosh Wears sees Ross combine smart and tech wear for colder weather, starting with a warm lid from Dutch visual art brand Parra, with a cosy wide gauge knit acrylic construction and an embroidered ‘Freebird’ design. To add to this Winter fit, Ross has added the slim but effective Down Muffler from the Japanese utility and sportswear brand, Nanamica. This scarf is made of Supima cotton and stuffed with a high-performance down fill, and conveniently packs down into a branded stuffsack when you’re on the go.
Doubling down on the Nanamica, Ross has chosen the ALPHADRY shirt jacket; a lightweight polyester overshirt with sweat wicking technology, a two-way zip fastening, dual chest pockets and rubberised sleeve branding. The relaxed fit of this jacket allows room for layering, and what better middle layer than the Camping Flannel Utility Shirt from mountainwear experts, Snow Peak. The brand are renowned for high performance mountaineering accessories and apparel, rigorously tested by it’s employees in the picturesque yet harsh conditions of Niigata, Japan. This heavy duty shirt has a stylish speckled finish with a relaxed boxy fit, with two large patch pockets for your daily essentials and stamped branding. Finishing the trio of toasty layers, the Camping Gear Logo Longsleeve T-Shirt from Snow Peak is a soft-touch base layer with a classic minimal design featuring a single chest pocket, woven hem label and a screen printed back design.
On the opposite side of Japanese streetwear, the unique Cav Empt can been seen represented in the form of the PRACTICAL PANTS, a cotton and nylon blend pair of cargo style trousers featuring a subtle black piping, a tonal Ziggurat rubber logo to the knee, elasticated and adjustable waistband and ankle buttons for the perfect shape and fit. What better shoes to end on than the Cup from Clarks Originals with a premium Nubuck leather upper, durable exaggerated crepe sole and the iconic Wallabee silhouette that’s served as a go-to smart casual option for everyday wear, first dates and even weddings.
