New Balance

New Balance was formed in 1906 in Boston USA when Walter Heckler formed a company that went on to design running shoes for the Boston Brown Bag Running Club in the 1930s followed by custom-made shoes for running, baseball, basketball, tennis and boxing. To this day New Balance holds onto its history through the numbering system that was originally used to place an emphasis on the New Balance philosophy rather than on any one particular shoe, and model numbers are still advanced to incorporate new technologies and designs. As part of our New Balance selection for 2012 Wellgosh will be stocking the Made In England product. New Balance launched its UK manufacturing facility for technologically innovative footwear 22 years ago in Cumbria in the Lake District and continues to commit to UK based production where it handcrafts almost all New Balance running shoes and heritage classics.
